"It's Not Just About the Haircut—It's About Respecting Time"
There are days in this line of work when the haircut is the easiest part. The real challenge? People’s mindset—especially when it comes to time.
Just the other day, a client walked in 20 minutes late for his appointment. No apologies. Just a casual, “Oh, I thought my appointment was for an hour.” As if the length of the appointment justifies showing up late.
But here’s the thing—whether your session is 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours... being late is being late. It's not about the duration. It’s about respect. Respect for your barber, respect for the other clients, and most importantly, respect for time.
Time is one of the most valuable things we have. At Rogue & Beyond, we run a tight schedule. We respect our clients’ time by being prepared and present. We expect the same in return. When someone strolls in 15 or 20 minutes late, they’re not just delaying their own haircut—they’re pushing everyone else’s day off track. And what’s worse, they don’t even realize how entitled that behavior is.
Being on time isn’t just about punctuality. It’s about being accountable. It’s about discipline. If you're late to everything in life, chances are you're also the kind of person who’s always making excuses for everything else. And that’s not how growth happens.
We all have flaws. But being late is one of those things that’s easily fixable—just leave earlier. Set a reminder. Prioritize better. Stop assuming that your time matters more than someone else’s.
In this shop, we value time. It’s how we keep our craft sharp and our service consistent. We give every client our full attention when it’s their time—but if you can’t show up on time, you’re essentially saying that our time doesn’t matter. And that’s not something we take lightly.
So to the ones who are always “running a bit late,” let this be a wake-up call. Being on time is basic. It’s not a big ask. It’s a bare minimum.
Because when you respect time, you’re not just respecting others—you’re showing that you respect yourself.
